Layer by layer
Rotate models, zoom in and pull them apart. Then go one level deeper: from the device into its assemblies and on to the components.

Down the ladder
Every object opens up in steps. The device moves apart and shows its assemblies, and inside them the components. A component leads to its material, and the material to its molecules and atoms.
- Devicethe whole object, for example a kettle
- Assemblyparts that belong together and do one job together
- Componentthe single part and its function
- Materialwhat the part is made of, for example stainless steel
- Moleculehow the material is built on a small scale
- Atomthe building blocks below
The models are archetypes we built ourselves. They show the typical structure of an object, not a particular brand or product. A real device can differ in detail.
Who it is for
For everyone aged 13 and over who wants to know how things are built: out of curiosity, for school, training or as a hobby.
